I recently underwent a laparoscopic hysterectomy procedure performed by Dr Gnanachandran (Gnana) and his surgical team. I cannot praise Dr Gnana highly enough. At the first appointment when I was seen by Dr Gnana, he made me feel reassured, He explained why I was being referred and the suggested treatment plan for me, he also answered any questions which I was unclear about relating to the surgery and made sure I was happy to go ahead with the operation, He also referred me for a scan to ensure that he could go ahead with the procedure, and kept me informed of the outcome of the scan. He explained why I needed the surgery and ensured I understood what I was giving my written consent for. His secretary Leah is really helpful and so are the other secretaries who have taken telephone calls for me. I went into NGH as an Out-Patient for Day Care surgery but was kept in over 2 nights, The admin team and the nurses are really friendly and provided first class care after the operation. Dr Gnana personally visited me following my op to see how I felt. though I was drowsy, he sent a colleague to see me the following day and revisited me too. I would like to say a big thank you to Dr Gnana and his wonderful team for carrying out my op which seemed straightforward at first but had many complications during the op but he and his wonderful surgical team managed it. THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart.

I had a large Ovarian Cyst, a total abdominal hysterectomy, a bilateral salping-oophrectomy, omentectomy and an appendicectomy early in July 2019 at Northampton General Hospital. This whole experience whilst being rather daunting, was eased by Mr Gnanachandran with his confident and charismatic approach to my surgery. I found him to be a dedicated surgeon who went out of his way with his support, knowledge and advice. I was really impressed that this procedure was carried out in a matter of weeks after first seeing Mr Gnanachandran and how important this was for me. I could not have wished for a better or more approachable surgeon, and would thoroughly recommend him.

I had a total abdominal hysterectomy and bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy carried out by Dr Gnana. on 30th April 2019. I was fully informed of the procedure and the operation took place within a matter of weeks from diagnosis. Although I was obviously a bit apprehensive of undergoing surgery, Dr Gnana and all his team were fantastic and I felt supported throughout my time in hospital. I am grateful to him and his team for the operation going smoothly and for feeling very well looked after during my stay at northampton general hospital.

When I spoke to the doctor about alternatives to having a hysterectomy (due to suffering from heavy periods) and explained that I would still liked to have children one day, therefore would like to consider alternatives, his response was "Well you ARE forty!" as if implying that I was now too old to consider having children! I found this comment very upsetting and unhelpful and I also felt like he was pressuring me into having a hysterectomy as it was the less complicated procedure.

I received second to none care and treatment from Dr Gnanachandran for my procedure. Right from consultation stage he was extremely professional and informative, taking the time to fully explain my diagnosis and options for treatment. He was more than happy to answer any questions I had and made sure I understood all that was being explained. Dr Gnanachandran’s team kept me updated during the period prior to my treatment so that on the day everything was quite straight forward. I can’t stress how wonderful Dr Gnanachandran and all his team were on the day of my procedure, completely putting me at ease. Each staff member was friendly, professional and caring and I could not have asked for a better team to have carried out my treatment. Dr Gnanachandran on the day kept me informed at each stage of procedure and made sure I was happy with how things were going. After the procedure he personally came over to see me and explained what I should expect next and look out for, should there be any issues. I would without doubt recommend Dr Gnanachandran for any gynaecological procedures or treatment as I myself have received care above and beyond what I had expected.
