I was in a pretty bad way having been rushed into hospital to have a problematic pituitary tumour removed. I couldn't see much as my optic nerves were being affected by the tumour so I was somewhat disoriented. All the Addenbrookes staff were wonderful but Mr Kolias was superb. He explained my situation very clearly so that I understood what was going to happen every step along the way. His calm manner immediately put me at ease. He took great interest in what I was saying, in particular my wanting to get my sight back so that I could see my new grandson for the first time. I have no hesitation in saying that I was blessed to have Mr. Kolias performing my surgery. As far as I'm concerned, he saved my life and I will be forever in his debt.
