I had the pleasure of meeting Mr Kolias in January after being diagnosed with a pituitary tumour the previous year. At that meeting he showed and discussed with me the MRI with contrast and explained in detail how this was pushing on my optic nerve. I was admitted to Addenbrooks in April, where the tumour was removed by Mr Kolias and his team. The operation was a success and I was discharged 4 days later. From the outset, Mr Kolias kept me fully informed as what would be happening, on my at Addenbrooks on the day of my operation, he and the anaesthetist even wheeled me down to the theatre, which was very reassuring. He was there when I was taken to the ward after the operation, rang my wife, so I could speak to her and throughout my stay on the ward made regular visits to check on my progress. I had a follow up conversation him a couple of days ago where he told me that my follow up MRI showed the everything was fine after my operation. Throughout, Mr Kolias was friendly and caring, I can’t thank him enough for what he and his team did for me. I felt reassured throughout my diagnosis and operation. He is one of life’s gentlemen and in my opinion a credit to his profession. I honestly think there is nothing that Mr Kolias could do to improve the way he cares for his patients, I must also thank the staff in ward A4 for looking after me during my stay, they are any amazing group of people.
