I was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2022 and from the onset, Miss Iqbal was professional and caring. She put my mind at rest wasted no time in supporting me. Miss Iqbal has empathy and is caring in her approach, she understood my anxieties and ensured that she was able to provide me with relevant information and tried her best to alleviate my worries. I had a mastectomy and reconstructive surgery where she tried to minimise the scaring and look of my breast. She respected my views and beliefs wherever possible. Unfortunately I was diagnosed with recurrent breast cancer and she wasted no time in further surgery. Miss Iqbal has been a God send and her empathy and support as well as her medical knowledge and experience has been invaluable. I am so grateful Miss Iqbal has been my cancer consultant and surgeon over the last few years. There is nothing more I could have wished for and I would recommend her to every woman going through breast cancer. I have heard alot of horror stories from other women and believe that I have been blessed to have Miss Iqbal throughout both my cancer journeys. Miss Iqbal is firm and fair and will take time out to go over the same information on more than a few occasions, she will draw pictures and ensure that I understand the proceedures and outcome completely, she takes time out to ensure that all avenues are looked at and unnecessary scaring and cuts are avoided. Miss Iqbal is an asset to City Hospital Birmingham and I hope she is acknowledged as so, so that she stays there.
