Ms Caroline Burt qualified from Guy's Hospital, London, and undertook surgical training in the South West of England followed by a colorectal fellowship in Toronto, Canada. Her main areas of practice are inflammatory bowel disease and colorectal cancer, requiring laparoscopic or open surgery, as well as colonoscopy and benign anorectal problems such as haemorrhoids and anal fissures. In addition to surgical practice she is involved in medical education and is currently surgical tutor for North Bristol NHS Trust.
