I have found that rare thing- a GP who really seems to genuinely care about you as an individual, and talks to you like a compassionate human being. Her name is Dr. Suneeta Kochtar. She is a real gem and I am so glad I have her as my GP. At my former surgery I was first assigned to a GP who then left after a few months. The new GP you were assigned to never stayed very long and there was no choice in who you saw. This went on for 8 years and in that time due to GPs frequently leaving the surgery I was assigned to 6 different GPs. Some I never saw. I was just sent a curt form letter from the surgery saying the one I was currently assigned to had now left. The atmosphere of that practice seemed very cold and uncaring with grim faced receptionists, whose bickering could often be heard in the waiting room. This does not fill a patient with confidence when you are already beaten down by what ever ailment you are suffering from and waiting anxiously to be seen. All that has thankfully changed now that I go to see Dr. Kochtar at the Pebsham/Sea Road surgery in Bexhill on Sea. She is genuinely helpful and caring and very easy to talk to. One is never made to feel your questions are trivial. She really is up there with the best of the best in GP land.
