I was amazed how nervous I was before the assessment but Dr Mashru very quickly enabled me to feel more relaxed. I felt listened to and heard, at last. Dr Mashru carried out the assessment at a good pace, not too fast or too slow, and I came away with no questions as he was so thorough. I am very pleased that I was allocated this doctor and I am very grateful to him.

I really liked Dr. Mashru’s approach. When selecting the doctor for the apt, I had looked at reviews and so selected Dr. M on the basis of these and I’m glad I did. He treated me like a person, had a laugh with me, didn’t make me feel stupid or like there was anything “wrong” with me. It was important for me to feel believed and I was a bit skeptical about having ADHD but he reassured me. He helped me to see there was a real reason why I am the way I am and that there’s actually nothing wrong with that - it’s a real, legit thing! He listened and was just a really nice guy with a lot of experience so I’d defo recommend :)

I can’t put into words how great full I am to have had Dr Mashru as my assessor. He was really easy to talk to and you could tell that he really understood the struggles of being undiagnosed. He took the time to answer any questions I had and before medication even started he gave me hope that things would get better. They did. The medication itself has been un real. I was sceptical that my seemingly complex problems had such a simple answer but they really did. In just one month I’ve gone from being incapable of doing simple tasks like brushing my hair and teeth everyday to being able to do things like decorating, dealing with tasks the day I get them, even getting ready to start working for the first time in years. They’re not wrong when they say medication is like putting glasses on for the first time. My mood is so much better, I’m not weighed down by the guilt of constant failure anymore. I feel like I’m finally becoming the person I should be. I couldn’t have done any of this without Dr Mashru. I can’t recommend him enough.

Dr Mashru was extremely helpful. I didn’t feel nervous at all speaking with him. He is very easy to talk to, he explained everything about ADHD to me and the next steps to improve my symptoms. I didn’t expect the meeting to go so smoothly and I’m very much looking forward to the future. Highly recommend!

In the first couple of minutes of talking, he made me laugh and set me immediately at ease in showing me that this would be the end of the road of soul-crushing experiences of me trying to prove myself to a professional who thinks they know my own experience better than I could. Instead, he validated me and shared his understandings with me, and worked with my experience to see what sense we could make of it. He made sure that I knew within the first 5 minutes that he was totally on my side, that he believed me, that my symptoms make sense in the context of my issues and that not only am I not alone in them but that they are highly treatable. He's a personable, humble and kind person, the kind of person that seems to be trustworthy with that level of power. Thank you Dr Shyamal Mashru :)
