Dr. Mashru was pleasant to speak with and very thorough in his explanations. His approach is very "no nonsense" and will let you know it will take time to get results. He's very open about what to expect and won't promise everything will go smoothly, but still manages to give you hope in the same breath. Not a lot of doctors can do that! Overall, very pragmatic and great bedside manner despite the increase in demand for his professional care. Highly recommend!

When Dr Mashru diagnosed my ADHD, it was only the second time that I ever felt that a medical professional was really listening to what I was saying about what happens in my head (and how processing things feels in my body) l. He helped me to explain what was happening for me and how that felt. I can’t tell you what that meant. I cried afterward for the me who wasn’t listened to for all those years. The only other time that happened was over 20 years ago when I had a deep depressive episode. That GP was amazing when I was in crisis. But we never go to the cause - which was related to living in a world not designed for my and my adhd. Dr Mashru has helped me see the impact of my adhd over the years on how I got in the world and how this has been changed by perimenopause hormone changes and the life style changes which lockdown brought us. The diagnosis and subsequent treatment has profoundly changed things for me. I feel less shame. My rejection sensitivity is much reduced, I have stopped biting my nails and comfort/fidget eating. I have found ways to enjoy exercise for the first time. This has helped me ask for what I need at work and start talking about my skills differently - I am confident that by being different I add value. I have had to work hard get those things and it doesn't all come from a couple of appointments with Dr Mashru and the subsequent treatment. But he gave me the understanding, confidence and self belief to honour and do that work. He helped me realise that while I have adapted and hidden things and in many ways fitted in, that is exhausting, limiting and emotionally draining. As a result I also had the self belief to ask for what I needed from my titration nurse during the medication titration process. I wasn’t one of the lucky ones who finds the right meds first time. But when I did, it was worth it. If you need someone to really listen, I recommend Dr Mashru If you have perimenopause or hormone things happening which might have triggered changes in your ADHD. I recommend Dr Mashru If you want to shift your shame and start to understand that it’s ok to be you, I recommend Dr Mashru

Response from Dr Shyamal Mashru

Thank you so much for such a kind review! A lot of hard work is done by yourself as the patient, ADHD management is a life long process of learning about yourself and having that increased self-awareness will always help, alongside medication of course. All the best and thank you again, Dr Mashru

I saw Dr Mashru based on a friend's recommendation and it was definitely the right call. His help with my ADHD diagnosis has literally changed my life. He's really thorough, explains all the admin stuff clearly, listens to you and I would wholeheartedly recommend him.

Absolutely excellent care provided by Dr Mashru, really knowledgeable, friendly but professional! Completely put me at ease from start to finish of my titration and quick responses when I asked a question on the portal. As a service user I could not have asked for a better clinician to patient experience and would highly recommend
