Very personable, great communicator, direct, and it was refreshing to have someone who understood and didn't just fob me off. I didn't feel patronised at all. During my diagnosis appointment I felt listened to and validated and he was able to lead me to a few lightbulb moments which was very cathartic. I wasn't sure what to expect from my review video appointment. It would have been helpful to have advance notice of the questions he'd be asking (there was no guidance on what the 'titration review' would involve) and he appeared quite unprofessional, even appearing to be almost falling asleep at times as he looked sleepy and closed his eyes while I was talking.

Response from Dr Shyamal Mashru

Many thanks for taking the time to leave a review. I will feedback to Psychiatry UK and suggest that they inform patients of the kind of questions to expect at the end of titration review. I apologise that you felt that I appeared sleepy in the consultation. I have had over 120 reviews and have never been informed this before. It is very hot today and the temperature in my room is reading at 30 degrees centigrade so perhaps that took a toll on me. I have never had that feedback before and I will be reflecting on this very seriously. Many thanks for your review, Dr Mashru
