I decided to pay privately to see Mr Shah following weeks of pain, discomfort and numerous other symptoms linked to my gut. I’d been to the GP and the pain had got so severe that I even went to A&E on one occasion but it seemed as though no one was interested in my care whatsoever. The day I saw Mr Shah I was exhausted, frightened, in pain and terrified of what he might find. There was crying! Undeterred, he he sat patiently listening to everything I said. He was calm, reassuring and kind. He diagnosed a stomach ulcer and arranged for a CT scan and endoscopy. He immediately prescribed medication which began to relieve my symptoms straight away. He has continued to demonstrate professionalism and delivered the highest level of care, for which I am eternally grateful.
