In the consultation pre-op the information was clear and any questions were answered. I was nervous about the hand operation as I'd never had anaesthesia or an op before and Dr Karpati was professional if a little dry on hello, in comparison to other doctors and nurses. However when I went into surgery he came in very upbeat and funny, able to take my mind off what was going on around me, which seemed to happen very efficiently. During the operation Dr Karpati listened to me when I said I could feel sensations in my hand and seemed to respond accordingly. He was conversational, amusing and brilliantly distracting since I was awake for the op, the perfect remedy to take my mind off it. I left theatre saying I'd had a blast! I felt like Dr Karpati was my bedside buddy who helped me through the operation. Thanks!
