I have had four consultations with Dr Kar - initially two private appointments followed by two National Health. My first comment, therefore, is that the treatment and care I have received has been exemplary, on all four occasions, regardless of which hospital I attended. When I was first referred to Dr Kar, I had been given a rather disturbing account of my state of health and the course of treatment that would be necessary. Within ten minutes of meeting him for the first time, I was reassured by his explanation of the problem and how it would be treated. His easy manner, ability to explain complex matters in a way that the layman can follow and obvious deep knowledge is both impressive and comforting. His practice of dictating letters to be sent to other departments and/or one's own doctor before the appointment ends is particularly reassuring.
