Written by a patient

I was very impressed with Dr Imran's professionalism and what seemed to be his genuine care for me as a patient. He treated me as an intelligent human being at all times. Dr Imran discussed my condition with me using layman's language wherever possible, and at times allowed me to take the lead in the discussions. I have no criticism of Dr Imran whatsoever. My dissatisfaction is concerning the poor administrative support that this doctor received, from staff both in Grimsby and Hull. The computer system also seemed inadequate in providing him with my medical records. This resulted in Dr Imran being given a file that contained two pieces of paper, after I'd been seen at Grimsby and Hull for the last two years. It's frustrating as a patient when I have to go through my 'story' from scratch because the doctor has not been given the support he needs. We have computer systems that are not shared, and we have support staff running around with faxes. It's 2015, yet in this sense we seem not to have progressed since 1985.
