Today we took my daughter to see Dr Blyth after waiting 7 months for the appointment. on attending the appointment Dr Blyth did not ask any relevant questions regarding my daughters condition and instead spent 2 minutes examining my daughter. Ater about 5 minutes she tried to bring the appointment to a finish by saying that on her assessment the genetics team were not interested in seeing my daughter or looking in to her case any further. when i asked her if she had reviewed my daughters medical history specifically regarding her recent admission she was unable to answer me, suggesting that she has not actually ready any of her information. I found Dr Blyth extremely patronising and lacking in any level of empathy.

I came to see this doctor about a disease I was diagnosed with a few weeks ago (hnpp). I was told by her that she couldn't understand why I was there. I found her very unapproachable, she didn't give me any answers. I was told that my tiredness and feeling cold all the time was nothing to do with this disease even though I have researched it in depth. I came out feeling very cross. I wanted to ask her a lot of things but was made to feel a waste of time. I saw her for 20 mins even though my appt was 45 mins. I am now back to square one wondering what the future holds for me. I do appreciate there is no cure or treatment for this but to be able to talk to someone about it would have been very comforting.
