My daughter had previously been seen by other specialists and they had failed to help her uncontrollable epilepsy. Dr Koutroumanidis saw her when she was age 27 and took the time and trouble it needed to investigate her epilepsy fully. He actively and carefully listened to his patient (it took longer than usual as her epilepsy was slowing her thoughts). and me as a carer Over a period of time, Dr K worked out her appropriate medication then adjusted the dosage. He made a referral to the memory clinic which enabled her to understand her condition and learn techniques to help herself. She was also referred to an Epilepsy Nurse, they helped her to manage her own condition and associated effects. Since being under the care of Dr K and the Epilepsy Nurse, my daughter's medication has controlled her epilepsy, she has therefore been able to be active, independent and enjoy her life for the first time.
