My eldest son and daughter attended my appointment which was within a week of having the echocardiogram. We all had a sense of relief and confidence when we met Dr Shanmuganathan. He was very honest and came straight to the point about my cardiac failure and explained the course of action that should be taken. It was a shock but we all have confidence in his expertise and care in this field. I, at last, felt someone was listening to me and doing something positive about my condition. I had been feeling very abandoned for the previous four months. I did have to wait a further four months before having a Cardiac MRI but unfortunately that is due to the state of the NHS at the moment. I was prepared to pay to have the MRI but was told that it was routine and not necessary to have it urgently although it felt urgent to me. The cardiac failure care team have been supportive most of the time.
