I was referred privately to Dr Maliakal for a nerve root block injection in my lower back. He was excellent in diagnosing exactly where to inject, despite my symptoms not fitting the norm. He told me that I have only 4 lower vertebrae and one is deformed, which is why my symptoms made it difficult for him to know where to inject at first. He explained clearly what I should feel and this would tell him whether or not he had the right place. I immediately felt the tingling rush along my leg and strong release into my toes. Since the injection two months ago I have had virtually no pain and my quality of life is excellent. The relief was almost instant and increased rapidly over a few days. Best injection I have had so far. Would not hesitate to recommend.

Referred to Dr. Maliakal as 'private' patient by George Spink [neurosurgeon] for root nerve injection in lower back, to reduce pain in leg and ankle. Had had similar injection in NHS which was of no value at all. Dr. Maliakal was very professional, and excellent at identifying the relevant nerve, and injecting me. The result was almost spontaneous, reducing the pain to a very tolerable level, the benefits enormous, particularly being able to sleep comfortably at night, which also benefits my wife. Would have no hesitation in recommending Dr. Maliakal - well worth the expense.
