Joe's known me for a number of years and each time we meet he provides the consistent approach I value; he listens, he's calm & measured, he provides options & ideas, and he takes time to talk about the interests we share. A really great GP that I feel genuinely cares.

There is no better GP than Joe McGilligan. Unlike some, he listens and hears and does not prejudge. He spends the time necessary to explain, reassure and then diagnose, but it does not stop there. His advice is second to none and he constantly searches for the best medication relevant to the patient and their needs. I feel privileged to have known him since he joined the Greystone practice and he has helped me through some dark days. Thanks Joe, may you continue to give the same standard of care as you have up to now.

Joe always goes the extra mile to ensure you are fully aware of his thoughts re a diagnosis. He prints off information and uses models to show you exactly what your injury might be and where. I cannot recommend him highly enough. He will always listen fully to what you are saying. I feel lucky to have him as my GP.

Dr McGilligan is real doctor. In other words, he will not say to you: your time is up; you have mentioned your one complaint to me. Is it not a doctors’ role to treat the whole person and not just one complaint? In the past I may have had to wait to see him since he has been listening to other patients but I can be assured that when it comes to my turn I will also get sensitive treatment and his full attention. On Thursday 8th October 2015 I saw him dead on time and there was no wait, but it is no concern to me if I do have to wait. He is prepared to tell me his own histories and this confirms to me that doctors, after all, are human beings like the rest of us. It is particularly helpful that he takes the trouble to explain what is happening to me. Going to see the doctor is therefore a reassuring process and not something to dread.
