I saw Dr McGilligan as my new registration appointment and was extremely impressed as he was very approachable and proactive. Having been short changed elsewhere on my care, Dr McGilligan organised the start of 3 separate treatments that had not been followed through. A routine introductory consultation ended up as a thorough shake up of my previous medical history and a weight off my shoulders. Thank you again Doctor.

Dr McGilligan has total empathy with me as a patient and is a great listener and totally professional. He is instrumental in the excellent care I receive from this surgery. He is the best GP I have ever come across and fills me with confidence.

I have seen Dr McGilligan a couple of times this year and on both occasions he has been attentive and knowledgeable and I am extremely satisfied with the treatment I received.

Dr Joe McGilligan is a brilliant doctor. I went along to my son's appointment last Tuesday; he needed minor surgery on his toe. As always, Dr Joe was calm and reassuring, without hurry and took the time to explain what he was going to do. How does he do it! There must be endless pressures on him as an NHS doctor at a busy surgery - I'm sure he had a long list of other patients to see that same afternoon besides my son - but you would never know of the stresses he faces when it's your appointment. Barely 10 steps after leaving the surgery, my son started to feel faint and dizzy. I took him back. The sharp eyed receptionist had already seen what the problem was and ushered us through to a side room where he could recover. He was seen by Dr Aslett (another lovely doctor!) and we were given as much time as we needed before my son felt well enough to journey home. I have never had a bad experience at this surgery - the staff are excellent. This time visiting I wasn't the patient but I have been on several occasions. Many, many years ago - before I found Greystone Surgery - I used to dread going to the doctor. This is not the case any more; I always feel listened to and treated with warmth and compassion. Dr Joe has, it seems, an encyclopedic knowledge on many subjects and I trust him completely, Greystone House has fantastic patient care and I feel lucky that my family and I are patients there.

I saw Dr McGilligan last Friday (11th August) and he was absolutely brilliant! I had called earlier while at work and made a late emergency appointment. Even though I was his last patient of the day, he wasn't rushed at all, instead he took the time to examine my symptoms and recommend the best options, discussing the details with me. He gave me great advice and was very thoughtful. We are very lucky to have an amazing doctor like him! We all need to appreciate the fantastic doctors in the NHS, they are truly formidable and they deserve all our recognition and gratitude, they are our modern day heroes!
