He made the appointment very personal to me and was also asking about general health rather than dealing with just the issue I went in for. He also noticed I hadn’t had a blood pressure test for some time and did that whilst I was there. I felt that he really cared about his patients and is committed to improving the practice overall.

My surgery visit was due to knee pain and Dr. McGilligan was able to administer a cortisone injection there and then to provide almost immediate, short term relief. We then discussed options for longer term relief; reviewed an MRI scan of the joint and it was agreed that the problem wasn’t going to get better so a replacement would be needed - sooner rather than later whilst my mid 70’s body was still able to cope with it. As the NHS waiting list can be notoriously long we also discussed a plan for medium term relief of the pain to allow me to continue to maintain an active lifestyle. So grateful for the empathy and understanding.
