I was diagnosed with Barrett's oesophagus in 2016 and as a consequence require regular surveillance by oesophago-gastro-duodenoscopy. However, I have had a number of distressing endoscopies in recent years that have failed to get appropriate information to guide future management of my condition. I was overjoyed to be introduced to Dr Griffiths who could offer Propofol deep sedation (with anaesthetic support) during my most recent endoscopy, that also involved taking 12 biopsies from my oesophagus, stomach and duodenum. Dr Griffiths put me completely at ease and I was able to sleep through the procedure. I remained comfortable throughout and had no side effects from the sedation. I would highly recommend Dr Griffiths to anyone anxious about endoscopic surveillance.
