Dr Dionysis Papadatos-Pastos is exactly the doctor and the person one wants to meet as a recently diagnosed mesothelioma patient. He is highly qualified, very experienced, kind and sympathetic. He has a twinkle in his eye. In explaining the options for treatment, and answering questions about these, he is admirably clear. He is also, as the leading oncologist treating mesothelioma at UCH, a centre of excellence at the forefront of cancer research, in a strong position to offer effective treatment and realistic hope for the future to mesothelioma patients. He is on top of his job and seldom keeps patients waiting -- he sees patients, where he can, before their appointment time. He clearly takes an interest in each patient. Being diagnosed with mesothelioma is deeply shocking and frightening. I have, however, found both senior and junior staff at UCL kind, supportive, knowledgeable and positive.
