Within the psychiatry profession there are a small minority who actually care for patients and will do everything in their power to help them. Many sadly, are more interested in their academic prowess and don't have even the basic personality traits which equip them to be effective doctors. They lack courage, accountability and compassion. They rely on drugs to achieve solutions and have little other resources at their disposal especially those which come from their own drive to do all they can in the patient's best interest. This doctor falls heavily into this camp. He has chosen the wrong profession, probably because he has an intellectual interest in the theory of the mind, not because he has the slightest interest in helping the mentally ill recover.
