Dr Astin is in a select group of doctors who combine clinical excellence with that elusive ability to remain totally present with you and listen to what you are saying. She should be retaining hundreds of other GPs, or at least helping to write training courses. Not only does the patient feel and know they are in good hands, this old fashioned joined up doctoring saves an awful lot of money. Managers and administrators take note.
