My son was about 10 when I first met Dr Sims - Dr Sims was the first person who said - you are the expert on your son and I am the expert in autism and we will work together. I valued that statement that day and to this day -I now expect professionals to think the same! Dr Sims has always known what I am talking about even if I think im not making sense. He listens and has lots of empathy for us. My son has been very challenging over the years but Dr Sims has always made me feel like Im doing a good job with him. I seriously think my son would have been in care years ago without his help. I always have felt my son was very lucky to be a patient of his and have been smug when people ask who his psychiatrist is. Having now left Dr Sims as my son is an adult - I am truly grateful to him for the 8 years he has dedicated to us.
