Dr. Arjun Prakash is a highly experienced Consultant Gastroenterologist with a special focus on conditions affecting the liver, gallbladder, bile ducts, and pancreas. He also treats a wide range of digestive issues, including acid reflux, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), inflammatory bowel disease, chronic diarrhea, and digestive cancers. Practicing at Milton Keynes University Hospital, Dr. Prakash has played a key role in developing the hospital’s Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS) service, which uses a highly specialised endoscope with ultrasound imaging to diagnose and treat complex digestive conditions, particularly those affecting the pancreas and bile ducts. He is also one of the few specialists who perform advanced procedures such as ERCP (a technique for treating bile duct and pancreatic disorders), stent placements, feeding tube procedures, and the removal of large or complex polyps (endoscopic mucosal resection). Dr. Prakash is a JAG-accredited trainer in general endoscopy and is currently the only JAG-accredited trainer for ERCP in Milton Keynes, helping to train and mentor the next generation of specialists. He is also an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Buckingham Medical School and actively contributes to medical research, including national studies on early pancreatic and upper GI cancer detection.
