A couple of years ago my Mum nearly died and Dr Mayet really supported me and he probably doesn't even realise. My Mum had an accident at home and I found her and called the ambulance. She was very close to dying. When she was discharged from hospital I was scared and worried. There is only my Mum, my little sister and me home so I felt responsible. I went to my Mum's first GP appointment with her and it was Dr Mayet. He spoke about her brain injuries, brain surgery, etc. When we got up to leave he asked me to sit down and he actually asked me how I was feeling so I began to tell him. I explained I was about to start my GCSES but I felt like I couldn't cope with home and school and worrying about Mum. Dr Mayet arranged for me to see a lady in Chelmsford and he kept in touch with my Mum to see how I was getting on. The lady said she I had some post traumatic stress and she taught me how to manage things. I have so much to thank Dr Mayet for because I got through my GCSES and I am now at college studying Mechanics. I know that my Mum is being looked after by the best so I can relax and work towards my future.
