I am a fit and active 76 year old man who 6 months ago underwent rotator cuff repair surgery performed by Mr Cameron Hatrick. I had a badly torn supraspinatus muscle as well as a displaced L H biceps tendon which needed to be cut and re-attached. At our first consultation, proper diagnosis and treatment had already been delayed 2 years, partly due to the disruptions Covid caused the NHS but also because I was unaware of the seriousness of my injury until the pain eventually became intolerable. Mr Cameron Hatrick warned there was a risk of surgery being unsuccessful because of my age, as well as tissue having atrophied since the injury. He could see how keen I was to return to the fitness activities I enjoyed, so he agreed to operate. Six months on from surgery, I am extremely pleased with the result and am almost back to my former flexibility and strength. As advised, I now take considerable care not to undo the great surgery that was done. An essential part of my recovery was the skillful follow-up physiotherapy treatment by Gary Nicholson of Radius Healthcare. Whilst Mr Cameron Hatrick has a pleasant manner, he is not one to indulge in lengthy conversation, preferring to get straight to the point. I found him to be clear in his explanations of surgical procedures. Clearly, he is a very capable and talented surgeon. Robert Knight
