I first saw Mr Hatrick some years ago when he operated on my right shoulder and I returned with similar problems on the left. Prior to surgery we explored other non surgical treatments and fully discussed the surgical procedure. Mr Hatrick is mindful of the issues that I have with many joints due to osteo arthritis and understood that the need to maintain my current level of mobility and quality of life is paramount. My one criticism is that everyone of my appointments to see him at The Victoria Hospital in Lewes was changed. I did comment on this to him and he was apologetic explaining that sometimes they needed to fit in urgent cases and that may result in a change of appointment. I pointed out that this was unfair to patients waiting for an appointment whose condition was unknown to the clinical staff when their appointment was altered. Mr Hatrick took my point on board and said that he would give consideration to the way appointments were managed in the future.
