Mr Hatrick was prepared to operate on a large rotator cuff tear when others had said it was too bad to repair due tothe amount of damage and my age. Mr Cameron felt there was a chance he could repair the shoulder but gave a realistic assessment of 30% chance of recovery. Now 8 months after surgery and with a planned programme of physiotherapy I have almost full movement of the shoulder again. Furthermore I am easing back into playing golf, my hobby of DIY around the house and playing tennis, including gentle overarm serves. I am hoping that by continuing to strengthen the shoulder muscles I may be able to improve the power with which I hit the ball without worrying whether I am going to damage the shoulder. I am aware that I have been very lucky to get to this stage and that there will be no second chance.
