For Amber Ward:
I didn't initially feel involved in my wife's care until the family surgery meeting, it is better now. Obviously, it has been difficult due to the COVID restrictions and that's nobody's fault.
I also felt a bit apprehensive when visiting the WLC Amber ward, having to wait for locks to get unlocked and locked, hearing somebody yelling, and seeing the keys.
One thing that I really appreciate is being able to reach my wife on the phone. Also, having attended the family surgery, I feel more connected and supported now.
Everyone was great.
That’s the way I feel.
I think me and staff have worked well together and respected each other
Thanks to staff
made my life easier in hospital and made me feel safe
The care that I have recently received from the crisis team has been exceptional. Each member of the team has been kind & caring and have also taken time to answer my families questions too. They have provided valuable support in my recovery and have been approachable and friendly at all times. I would like to thank the team for their support and in particular the way that both Dr Cecelia and Moses have helped me.
For Amber Ward:
It is very helpful that we can use the ward's phone to contact her and keep in touch daily if needed.
I would like the instructions about leave for my wife to be a bit clearer because we got a bit confused.
Another comment, it is not as easy to gain access in the weekend and if the weather is bad, there is no cover to wait.
For Amber ward:
Being able to help us out when my mother wasn't well, and getting a diagnosis; that was very helpful to us. I would say that you have been superb helping my mother and understanding her psychology. OT also helped a lot helping my mother. I think you are doing a great job.
Ruby ward was awful the staff were rude and often ignore you all together.
Not a place that actually helps and I wouldn’t have set foot in it if I hadn’t been detained under the mental health act
Course run by Recovery College was good - staff were well informed, knowledgeable and compassionate. Being able to share with others experiencing similar problems was very beneficial.
