Ruby Ward
Staff do not care and do not include patients in the decision making process. The deescalation/seclusion corridor has ants in it as well as the garden walls being covered in blood from where patients are left to engage in DSH and are not stopped.
There is no continuity in the care as the ward doesn’t have a consultant and so having to rely on a consultant that has never met us before. Refusing to give leave back even though what the patients have been told would mean leave could be granted as long as they are 24 hours incident free.
It’s unacceptable how the majority of the staff talk to patients, they take a threatening approach and punish us because of our illnesses e.g not granting leave because of an incident related to a symptom of a diagnosis.
There is also a lack of physical health care, many patients engage in HB and even though it is serious they are never sent to hospital for scans to check there is no internal damage. Along with this they are unable to care for patients with eating disorders as they don’t believe it’s an illness and allow patients to go weeks not eating.
At the beginning service was poor, but has improved since the poor start.
I liked being able to speak and someone about my issues.

I just want to go to my new home
Someone played a dvd in the arctic which I don’t want but am not sure why YouTube swears at me sometimes

Opal Ward are the holders of hope, both staff and patients. Now I take that hope and give it back to you, and to others over the course of my life.
