Informal patient only on ward for a couple of hours, not happy to stay here.
I’ve been treated with such kindness and looked after so well. I would recommend it to a friend.
So far I have had a brilliant psychiatrist appointment and help from the nurse I am only at the beginning of treatment but so far they have seen excellent, even better than I could ever have expected.
The psychiatrist is one of the nicest doctors I have ever met, very grateful for the care he has given so far.
very understanding (Dr Ahmed) and professional. Didn't feel like I was being judged at all.
Good Care

having a CPN coming to do home visits as I live in a rural area and have no transport. MHT liasing with other services such as one recovery, Holistic approach
The food suppliers have changed and the ice cream/ sandwiches are not the same standard they used to be. There are very little luxuries when you are sectioned so having the old suppliers made a huge difference .
Also the consultant on the ward seems to have a very dim view on how to help people presenting with personality disorders and seems to have conflicting opinions one day after the next . For example no leave because of risk one day , and fully discharged the next
The trust as a whole doesn’t have the capability to look after patients with personality disorders and as such I think the PD pathway should be reviewed ASAP as people are suffering
Some of the ward staff are friendly but they are overstretched. I feel “protected time” would be of benefit being reintroduced, as from a patient view it seems as though staff are mostly in the office and it feels very us and them .
The building itself seems to be sound enough, but it’s the day to day running for instance of the ward I’m on where there’s ingrained problems due to maybe lack of staff and or staff buried under paper work. And failures to meet patients needs due to the staff pressures. A very big problem to get to see doctors of which your consultant is so elusive they might as well be an endangered snow leopard. The No Smoking rule is never going to work and has always been flouted, it should be abolished.
