Despite being seen by 3 different hand therapists the care and advice I have received has been excellent. All 3 were caring, listened to my views and gave realistic advice. I was always treated with respect and dignity. Appointments ran to time but I was never rushed. Consultations always gave sufficient time for me to raise any concerns that I had about the difficulties I was experiencing following my injury and realistic, practical advice was given.

Suggested improvements
The only problem I had was on one occasion with a member of the admin team. Following a cancelled appointment due to staff illness I did not hear about a new appointment which is what I had been told would happen. When I rang I was told very curtly that messages had been left for me (this was later agreed not to have been the case) and as I had not responded I had been discharged. Again, this was not the case. However, all other members of the admin team that I spoke to were very helpful and courteous.

Response from St Mary's Hospital

I’m sorry that your experience falls short of our expectations, without further details I cannot comment specifically on your case. However, I am pleased to read that the issue appears to be an isolated one and that you found the other interactions with our service to have been helpful and courteous.
