No communication between Doctor's and nurses. The nurse didn't even know why i was on the ward!!!!. I saw three different Doctor's and each one said something different. Absolutely shocking care. The nurse who was looking after me was very kind despite not knowing what was happening

Felt totally gaslighted. Talked about by nurses in an angry manner infront of me. Doctor completely ignored complaints.

Suggested improvements
Remember were still humans and still need compassion.

I was triaged in good time but left for 5 hours before seeing a doctor and I was in excruciating pain. Sitting was very painful but my pain also made me feel sick or want to pass out. The A & E depart was busy and there were very few places to sit and nowhere to lay down. I had severe chest pain and desperately wanted to lay down. I knew what the cause of my pain was but it took over 6 hours for a doctor to realise that my bloods were giving an inaccurate reading because of my medication. Because of this, I was in severe pain for a very long time. Then the medication that was prescribed me was unavailable, so I had to wait until the next day to pick it up from another pharmacy.

Suggested improvements
Read through my history and medication in good time so that any underlying issues can be picked up sooner. Also, for reception staff to be kinder when enquiring about my wait time instead of fobbing me off and being disrespectful to me and also witnessed her smirking at another patient. Sick bowls also need to be at reception so that any sick patient can have one quickly!

All staff were great. Explaining everything to us..There was nothing they could do better. So very kind. The Doctor let me sleep way past closing time. My husband slept on the chair next to me. What a lovely place (ward) why can’t all wards in Scunthorpe Hospital be like this one. There was nothing they could do better. Thank you!

Suggested improvements
Nothing. I have spoken to all my friends.

The nurse and doctor were great however 4.5 hours in a and e some patient had been waiting 6.5 hours by the time I went home I have a fracture in my shoulder and have to wait further 4 weeks to be seen the pain is unbearable There is not enough staff , not enough doctors and nurses it’s disgusting they are doing their best , you have all the new department all fancy but it does not change the end result It’s just figures

Suggested improvements
Get more staff , help the nhs more nurses more doctors they did not stop it was relentless and there was not enough staff to support It was absolutely appalling the nhs is broken, throwing money at a new building is not the answer , they need more staff not less It’s disgusting the poor staff it’s diabolical , this does not help patients .they need more doctors more nurses

I attended because of respiratory issues, I was uncomfortable and very worried. I was triaged by a nurse who sought out a doctor to discuss the issue, I was seen, treated and home within 3 hours . Staff were great, the facility was clean and despite having to deal with complex and challenging cases, all staff were calm and courteous and professional throughout my visit.

Suggested improvements
I found everything satisfactory
