Overall my treatment was good.

As I was sent to A & E by my GP with a suspected stroke I feel that the time I had to wait to see anyone was excessive. Things like that need to be sorted much quicker.

Lisa, the triage nurse was brilliant. The reception team were great and Dr Khan also was very good. I was incredibly disappointed that the urology doctor on call refused to come in and support. Ive decided to cancel my appointment with urology now and keep my appointment at Newcastle as I've lost faith

Suggested improvements
Have on call doctors turn up when on call. Absolutely disgraceful.

Made available water in the waiting room as if I could have drunk some it may have made my blood flow more easily as the nurseEmma was unable to get any blood.

I was sent to A&E by my GP accompanied by a letter from my GP as he thought my wound needed surgically cleaned something the practice could not do. After a 3hour wait I was called into see the triage nurse, she asked questions about how this wound occurred but made no attempt to take a look at , my wife informed the nurse there was an accompanying letter stating why I was at the department, she did not have the letter and made no attempt to retrieve the letter for the information, I was then sent back into the waiting room, 3 hours later I was finally called in to a cubicle, a nurse, (dressed in black) asked how he could help, again no idea of what the letter said that accompanied me, , my wife showed him a picture of the wound which she had on her phone, he asked if he could show this to a colleague (in hindsight this could have been anyone's leg),when he came back he told me that his colleague had agreed with him that the tissues viability team should come to see this, still no one had taken the dressing off to actually see my wound, he asked us to take a seat back out in the waiting room until they came, I waited another hour approximately when the same nurse came out into the waiting room with x2 boxes of antibiotics in hand, he explained to take these as prescribed, continue to use the GP nurse for dressing and he would refer me Dean Pickwell to the iron stone centre wound clinic and to wait for an appointment to come through and that was that, he said if i developed any temperature, discomfort or swelling to come straight back. To be totally honest I felt really let down mainly because NO one had made an effort to even look at my leg as I was lend to believe they would,

Suggested improvements
To actually look at my wound, to actually be seen by the tissue viability team as promised which would have put my mind at rest
