It is inevitable that a hospital environment makes it difficult to sleep. However it would help enormously if night staff were able to encourage other patients to turn off tv's or to use headphones. I unfortunately had to cope with another patient who had brought in her own tv and who left it on throughout the night with the sound quite loud. I felt that the toilets needed more frequent cleaning. It would have been helpful to know that I would be going to the discharge area on the afternoon of departure. This was not really a problem but a porter arrived with a wheelchair before I was ready having been given the impression that I would remain on the ward until pharmacy sent up my medication.
