6 hour wait in a&e with a 5 year old is disgusting...won't be coming here again! Nhs is on its arse what an I paying my national insurance for when my daughter has to sit for 6 hours in pain!

Staff are caring, professional , positive , happy in their job , consistent ( all staff are permanent regular faces ) The wards are very clean , bright and the ward plan is good with an open garden area. The Aand E experience my mother had was very good too. The doctor was thorough and her treatment was the gold standard . Sadly my mother had to be transported to Bury for the MRI brain scan ...... It was organised very quickly but in an ideal world more than 1 machine should e there at the hospital.

The facilities and staff are wonderful. Staff wise the 2 midwives never stopped, nothing was too much trouble and I was surprised to see how much of their time was spent cleaning, with no downtime and even the more standard births are draining. The only reason I am not extremely likely to recommend the unit is I worry about the staffing model. They require support, our birth was unexpectedly quick once it started and our midwife was spinning plates. Naturally she dropped everything and was outstanding, if this birth had been in anyway complex I wonder where support would be. The other thing that surprised me was as we walked to the birthing centre, stopping with each contraction the amount of medical professionals who looked then physically and noticeably purposefully looked the other way. A member of support staff was the only one to show concern and offer assistance.

From the moment I was admitted I was provided with great care. I was due to have an elective section on Thursday 25th October however went into labour early in the morning of 25th October. My previous birth experience 6 years ago was extremely traumatic and has stayed with me since so I was very worried as to what would happen if I went into early labour. I wish I could have seen how well it would all have gone - I could not have asked for better care and understanding staff. No-one belittled my previous experience and spoke with empathy and kindness. There are so many people that helped during my 36 hours in the hospital but in particular Karen Robbins was an absolute rock and the surgical team including Joe the anaesthetist and Shanan(sorry if spelling incorrect) and the consultant and the rest of the team talked me through everything and made the surgery a wonderful and less frightening experience - I cannot stress how emotional I was and they really kept me calm and made me smile. Following this I again felt very cared for once transferred to the labour ward, under the care of Jenny, Tina and Isla who helped me on my way to recovery.

Care received was very personalised. MidwIves couldnt do enough to care for me and my baby. Very prompt arrangement of review by feeding team as my baby was tongue tied.

I had my baby at the birthing unit. This was not a choice I had made I was too late to have pain relief and the labour ward however it was the best thing that could have happened. The birth of my boy was stress free and very chilled very good all round experience. The aftercare I have received was also very good. We were left in out own room and looked after very well. The midwives were all very helpful and really genuinely nice and made me feel at ease. I would recommend this experience to anyone.

Me and my baby were seen by the Midwifes from North Manchester hospital and overall the care was good and all my questions/queries answered, but I must say that the level of care varied by Midwife. One followed up and called me as promised, the other never called when she said she would. Only surprise to me was that I was never touched on my tummy or had any other checks (except questions) - compared with the first baby, I had more checks done on me eventhough I felt good.

First baby at 37 years old... I work for the NHS. I was just a little disapointed how short staffed North Manchester was. Having a baby is a big thing a lady does in her life. I never hardly pressed the buzzer for attention but kept getting forgot about. :/ I think North Manchester widwifes are lovely ladies but are very busy and can't help everybody. Under staffed and it is very dangerous. I pay my Tax bill to receive care from the NHS and i've worked since i was 17. It seems strangers that come from other countries get better looked after and get the treatment for free. We need to start charging time wasters & foreign people who do not pay tax. They people will not think the U.K is an easy country....
