The staff were caring and competent. Banning smoking caused much distress, to the majority of admissions who had "nicotine addiction. " A lot of nursing time was taken up with escorting patients to the Hospital entrance, so they could smoke. I suggest allowing vaping in the ward garden. The ward felt a bit "prison like ", with high walls and double locked doors. Again, I suggest permitting vaping would allow the ward to be more "open". The nursing staff had very little flexibility in permitting leave. This also was made more problematic, by the complete no smoking policy . Thank you, Christopher Lawson
