The ward staff were fabulous and did everything possible to make me comfortable as well as being genuinely lovely people. Theatre staff were great too!
Very good sums it up.
In every circumstance, (including my emotional insecurities) I was considered professionally and appropriately.
The care, reassurance are see over.
Professional and caring people from the consultants to the nursing staff to the cleaners and the clerical/admin staff
On the whole my experience was good. However, was given wrong information on the phone about where to arrive, as the delivery suite had been shut down. They still took me in to delivery suite when I arrived in labour but the Midwife I was greeted by, made me feel unwanted and almost made me feel stupid, not believing I was in labour. Her attitude did improve after a while but It made me cry when I first arrived. Once I got my Midwife Rachel, I felt much calmer and in safe, caring hands. She was great during my emergency C-section and offered great care. On the maternity ward, the staff did their best in understaffed conditions. They showed great care. However, as they were so understaffed and doctors were not available for hours, I had to wait several hours for pain relief after a c-section.
Find new system efficient but restrictive. As a nurse working outside of the area, had to wait 10 days for an appointment on my day off. Not good when the bloods needed doing sooner. Not always possible to take a day's annual leave to get bloods done. Otherwise no issues with my visit
