I have been treated by Dr Owen Dempsey(Aberdeen)for several years and I have found him to be extremely caring, careful of his diagnosis and his treatment of me.
A very polite and hard working consultant, he always arrives ahead of time ensures that I have an x-ray, breath tests and examination by him at the stated time. He
is well respected by staff and his patients.
I have been attending the chest clinic for many years and consider it to be one of the most efficiently run clinics in Grampian hospitals.
The parking arrangements at this hospital are shambolic. I arrived 45 minutes early so that I could hang around until a parking space within the hospital complex became available. Other car owners were similarly engaged double banking each other in a desperate need to find a space. The hospital itself has become a rabbit warren over the years but directions are reasonably easy to follow. Reception staff in the respiratory unit were slow to attend, appeared to be doing two things at once and lacked any welcoming skills. Nursing staff were helpful as were the radiolologists although interpersonal skills could still be improved - perhaps a faint hope with the level of throughput.
An excellent hospital experience. The staff from the receptionist, radiographer, nurses and consultant were very professional. I am extremely proud of them all and felt at complete ease throughout the experience. I wish them all the very best.
I could not have been given better care or more information , all the staff were smiley and pleasant.
I have to comment on the food in response to yesterdays newspaper ,it was sometimes not quite as one might have expected , however what I had was fine, and why would anyone need or expect large portions when almost no energy was being expended
There are not many people that wouldn’t agree the NHS is oversubscribed considering the resources its funded with. However when the time comes and you need treatment asap, I have always found it to be provided professionally and with the highest of standards. Keep up the good work. Thanks you again NHS.

Parking continues to be a worry in terms of having to arrive very early to ensure not late for appointment. There appears to have been little logic in recently adding a whole new section of wards yet no new parking at ARI. Perhaps a more sensible approach would be in future to consider devolving some departments / functions to non Foresterhill sites relatively nearby e.g. Ellon, Inverurie, Stonehaven etc thereby relieving stress on parking and other facilities? Negotiating the car park / access is now also much more difficult with car access down the road in front of the hospital disallowed.
