It is virtually impossible to get an appointment at this surgery-even in an emergency. Receptionists will tell you (even when an emergency) that there are no appointments available- call back the next morning, and when you do the line is busy. The only way to get an appointment, is to get there early and queue outside the building before start of surgery. When you are extremely ill, this is not an option. I have had the experience of being told by NHS direct lie 111 that I needed to get an emergency appointment within 24 hours, and when I called the surgery- none was available for a whole week. magically, when the surgery is undertaking a review, a host of locums appear during the review time slot and appointments are suddenly available. The best and therefore most popular Dr is Dr Baretto, who is kind, really listens and engages with patients. However it is impossible to get an appointment with her. If you ring for an appointment with her you will be told that she doesn't work that day, only to find that she is seeing patients. The inconsistency of care from Drs is a big issue. Clearly the other Drs need to raise their game. They need to learn her skills. We need more Dr Barettos! Date of last appointment- cant remember exact date. was in February.
