Unfortunately the practice doesn't seem to have the same standard of care since a couple of respected Doctors left, one of these especially understood the issues of mental health & how this personally affected a patient, his understanding of these issues alone would go along way to reassure & let the person know they were being listened to. This understanding has been lacking in recent appointments as none of the current doctors seem to be as aware or compassionate of these issues & how they can affect the way the patient is feeling. It would be great if this could be addressed in some way, by either having a doctor with training in this or a nurse with similar knowledge. Also there doesn't seem to be any system in place for the doctor to change Psychiatrists if differences arise between yourself & the person, such as opinion on medication, & therapies which may be outside of the area where I live, but not being able to get there to access them, you are looked on as not wanting to engage with him, & be willing to make a change, thereby enabling the psychiatrist to tick all the boxes on his report, but in practice no real progress is being made. Hopefully if there's a chance of any such changes being made, the surgery will be a much better place to help you make a recovery.
