Ongoing issues for over 2 years. For the past 3 weeks everyday I can I've called in to get an appointment with no luck. Today I had to speak with 4 different receptionists because they were dismissive and unhelpful. With 1 of them the phone line cut off so I called back and they refused to talk to me so I had to speak to another receptionist. I constantly get dismissed by receptionists and health care professionals alike because I'm 'too young', or 'don't know what I'm talking about', or it's just a UTI - something simple, then when they run tests it doesn't come back with anything - but they give me the same antibiotics for it anyway! After 2 years, they do absolutely nothing, but I gotta pay out for another prescription for them and then go back once again for the exact same thing.
I am absolutely disgusted by the receptionist's behaviour during a recent telephone call to try to make an appointment. I was 11 days post surgery and was worried one of my wounds/incisions had developed an infection, so I rang my GP surgery to make an appointment to get it checked out. I was told on the phone by a very rude receptionist that I should seek advise from a pharmacist before contacting the GP surgery to make an appointment. After an argument I was offered an appointment the following day with a nurse. Unhappy with this I contacted GAU who saw me the same day, as suspected my wound is infected so swobs were taken and antibiotics given.
How the hell can you justify telling a post surgery patient to seek advise from a pharmacist instead of seeking medical attention from a doctor or nurse as instructed upon hospital discharge?
I have been a patient at this practice for decades & highly recommend it. I have always been treated with great courtesy & respect. The staff that I have met, have been extremely helpful, professional & reassuring. Most recently one of the receptionists went out of her way to get advice from the doctor for me, rang me back when she said she would & even asked after me the following day when my husband went in to collect his prescription.
These small gestures go a long way.

Manager thought she could diagnose me over the counter just by looking at my records. She got it wrong! She was very uncaring at a time i was ill. The receptionists have been replaced with lovely ones, very helpful, the nurses are great and my doctor has been an absolute lifesaver. I recommend this surgery to friends all the time. So the only negatives are the insensitive manager and having to pay for parking. By the way if you don't feel ill there's free on street parking, outside the train station carpark.
The doctors leave you high and dry without your medication even though a much more experienced specialist advice was to not go without medications. They don’t refer appointments to hospitals. They don’t listen to patients concerns. They discuss private matters in the full view of members of the public instead of offering a private room, no confidentially
