I filled in dr link and got no response. To be fair this was due to dr link not the surgery.
Had a text message to ring as my annual review and medication review was due. (They were due in April). Had to wait 24 minutes for the receptionist, listening to Alex’s voice telling me ‘sorry for wait etc”. However when the receptionist answered I’m pleased to say it was Melanie, who sorted things out for me. I want to say she’s the biggest asset the surgery has. Long May she stay.
It takes a number of phone calls to get through to the surgery. Often holding for 25 minutes or more. At times, after holding, the phone has cut off!!
There was one time where I actually went into the surgery- after reopening after restrictions were lifted- and the receptionist said “why didn’t you phone”!. Her manner was rude!
Another time I asked for a gp appointment, I asked, if possible on a Monday or Thursday as they are my days off. She gave me an appointment with a nurse on a Tuesday, 3 weeks later!
Recently I found out my own surgery- Patford House- had reopened. I went to make a GP appointment as my ongoing problem hasn’t been resolved. I was told they are unable to make go appointments, they have to email the practice manager at beversbrook, then she decides wether or not to arrange a go appointment! Then I should get a text.
I initially contacted surgery in May. A nurse phoned me and arranged for blood tests. Then I was told there will be a follow up- I’m still waiting!! The service is very poor. I’m not the only person to feel this way.
In Calne there is only one other surgery available . I do appreciate the number of people now living in this area compared to the number of surgeries/ doctors available!!
I was having some mental health issues and needed to speak to a health professional before things became worse. Filled out the Doctorlink form on a Tuesday morning and a couple of hours later, received a reply with an appointment 48 hours later which was great.
My appointment was with an associate clinician (I think that was the title but I was in such a mess I can't remember), anyway she was excellent. I was listened to and treated with compassion and I was given a prescription and some suggestions for activities and other ways to receive help.
I've since received follow up information on the activities discussed from Stefi, the patient health co-ordinator who has been so helpful too.
Many thanks Beversbrook / Patford House
I have had issue with this surgery on every occasion. I should be using the one closest to me but because of the joint partnership they think it's OK to make me use this one.
On my latest visit the doctor was an hour late (yes 60 mins) for my appointment. This caused me to miss a physio appointment too.
The medical advice/treatment is fine. It's just the admin that let's this place down.
