I’ve always tried my best not to need the surgery and when I need, I come across with professionals who are unhelpful. This has happened over the last year, from a GP (the last I consulted was arrogant, undermining and sarcastic, and I learned today she was a locum and no longer around). Getting appointments even if over the phone can take a long time, apart from having to wait long time on the phone call. I was informed all GP understand of my condition so anyone could deal with it, but the website used to clearly state their area of interest. I was offered a consultation with a nurse (no offence) but the issue is not that simple. Than a suggestion to see a trainee GP! Can’t stop but feeling fobbed off . I’ve worked for the NHS for decades and I have private health insurance exactly to avoid using the services. However, there are issues which need to go via the Surgery.
It is impossible to get an appointment. They never answer the phone - I have tried numerous times over several days, waiting to speak to someone for hours and never any answer. The online system doesn't work well either and the earliest appointment is several weeks later. We may as well not have a Drs surgery. Access to medical care and appointments is non existent. The Drs may be great, I wouldn't know as I haven't been able to get an appointment. I have given up trying to ever get a medical appointment for myself, I just hope there is nothing really wrong that could have been picked up early by being seen by a Dr.
We had to go through 111 to get a phone appointment for our child because it was impossible to get an appointment by phone or the online system. Its no wonder 111 is difficult to get through to if they are fielding calls that should be dealt with by Drs surgeries.
The receptionists were patient and helpful, the Doctors listened and were very thorough. They were quick to diagnose and I soon had some medicine to help.
The stresses on the whole team are huge. They face massive challenges day to day. I just wanted to say that they have been fantastic.
I’m incredibly grateful to them all.
Thank you all so very much.
Dr link arranged the app.
I have called 4 times in 3 weeks asking for an appointment. The shortest time I was waiting for the phone to be answered was 12 minutes and the longest was 25 minutes. That is very poor and not good enough. A month on I still don’t have an appointment and I continue to suffer. The service is substandard and well below what I would expect. The reception staff are helpful but let down by the clinical practitioners who ignore the email requests.
