From the moment I met with Mr Chang he made me feel at ease, he was very detailed in his information and took time to listen to any questions and gave honest and helpful answers. He was always very caring and interested in what I was feeling. As for the surgery, it went exactly as he said it would and was a success. He is a very professional and polite gentleman who I am so glad to have met, under the circumstances I cannot anything negative to say, only positive. Mr Chang is a great advert for our fantastic NHS, all my treatment so far has been world class. My heart felt thanks to Mr Chang and all of his staff.

Mr Chang, is a brilliant surgeon he doesn’t just think about the patient and how to support them but also the wider circle including mediate family members to the patient. He thinks about the overall patients health and wellbeing how to support them in the future and what they can do to support themselves. Mr Chang knew from day one he met me that he could do a colostomy surgery on me when so many other doctors passed me along or discharged me from their services for being too complex! When he opened me up he did say that I may need another surgery because I kept prolapsing and saw me frequently in between my two surgeries. He constantly asks my stoma team how I am getting on (as they continually tell me whenever he sees my stoma nurse team around the hospital shops the first thing he asks about me). Mr Chang cares about all of his patients, I feel very blessed to be referred to him

Mr Chang's really has been amazing throughout my time in his care from entering hospital as an emergency case at St Helier through my first operation (Hartmans procedure) and my second operation to reverse this at Epsom his care has been exceptional and second to none. The same can be said for the after care I've received from his ward visits after my operation to see if I was ok and in all of our follow up consultations I have always felt listened to and never hurried or rushed and had everything clearly and patiently explained to me about my ongoing care.

I found Mr Tou Pin Chang to be an excellent consultant with a great bedside manner. He explained every procedure perfectly and put me at ease with what results to expect. I have no hesitation in recommending this man and he is a great ambassador for the National Health Service.

I feel honoured to have been successfully treated and cared for by Mr Chang. From the initial consultation confirming my tumour, he was positive and confident that he could treat my cancer, which gave me and my family great hope. He offered a clear plan of action, communicated clearly to me the risks and challenges, and was supportive throughout. His skills both in the initial surgery and a year later in reversing my ileostomy have amazed me - that I am able to more or less return to normal life with no tangible impact on my physicality is extraordinary and far beyond what I imagined as a result of surgery. After both surgeries during my hospitalisation, Mr Chang would visit frequently to check on my progress, often in the evenings (which I can only assume is after a day full of surgeries and consultations!). I felt very lucky to be looked after this well, that he would give so much of his time to his patients, and his gentle and positive manner reassured me no end during what were difficult early days post-operation. Mr Chang's professionalism, positivity and level of care is beyond what I could have hoped for going into this, and I cannot thank him and his team enough.
