Mind-blowingly good NHS care from the incredible breast cancer team at Charring Cross Hospital led by Paul Thiruchelvam and the brilliant CNS team especially Stef Maull and Orla O'Neill. Amazing high quality, compassionate, informed, efficient multidisciplinary care throughout the pathway from screening mammogram through to interventional radiology to diagnosis disclosure and onto surgery and post operative care. Paul Thiruchelvam provided multiple surgical options including a single stage lumpectomy and bilateral mammoplasty focusing on not only cancer removal and sentinel lymph node biopsy but also the aesthetic outcome ensuring that the end result was symmetrical breasts. Whilst this may not be suitable for all women it was amazing not to face additional surgical procedures, or be left with one breast significantly smaller than the other. Fantastic surgeon, amazing team utterly focussed on exceptionally high quality holistic care for women with breast cancer. Its obvious that they work incredibly hard and need further resources to maintain this standard of care with the increasing numbers of women being diagnosed with breast cancer.
