Mr Polyzois performed a left anatomical total shoulder arthroplasty with a short stem uncemented humeral component & polyethylene cemented component keyhole on 28 July 2016 at Ashford Hospital nr Staines-upon-Thames, Middlesex. Following my operation, I received regular physiotherapy at St Peter's Hospital, Chertsey Surrey to regain full movement & strength in the new joint. Unfortunately, during the operation I sustained damage to my radial nerve resulting in radial palsy of my left hand; damage to nerves is a rare but known risk & despite this, had immediate great treatment from Kemper Martin in the Hand Therapy Department at Ashford Hospital for a year. Have regained grip strength but still have some reduced dexterity due to osteoarthritis in my fingers. I had been in severe pain & impaired movement in my shoulder for several years & now have no pain & full movement & no more sleepless nights! I have been amazed at the successful outcome of this operation & would fully recommend Mr Ioannis Polyzois - he was attentive from the start of our doctor/patient relationship & I continue to see him on an annual basis.

I visited Mr Polyzois with a broken shoulder ( not a condition I recommend anyone getting as it’s just a little painful and surprisingly restricting in general life!). From the first consultation onwards he was friendly, polite, honest with what to expect both during treatment and with the final outcome; all of which was extremely accurate and true. I really can’t recommend this gentleman highly enough. A credit to himself, his family and to our wonderful NHS in general. I’d also like to thank all the NHS staff from reception onwards for their politeness, professionalism, friendliness, efficiency and general excellence. We are a very lucky nation to have people like Mr Polyzois and his colleagues available to us all. Thank you for everything.

I was recommended Mr. Polyzois after cycle accident left me with a broken clavicle bone (collarbone). I was very impressed with the treatment that I recived right from the point of meeting Mr. Polyzois right through to the aftercare that was given. Mr. Ployzois was very clear in his explanation what the injury was, what the risks were, how long the recovery would take and what I could and couldn't do during the recovery period which assisted me in organizing my life around the surgery and rehabilitation period. In the aftercare period, Mr. Polyzois had a very clear line of communication with the physios advising them on what exercises I could and couldn't do. This helped me achieve a very quick recovery gaining full movement and strength within the arm and shoulder that was affected by the broken clavicle bone. Overall I would say that I received a first class service from Mr.Polyzois that got me back to full recovery in a very short period of time.

From the first consultation through the surgery and the after care I was shown respect and empathy. Such professional treatment and explanations in plain terms. I would certainly recommend this man for any surgery you might need on your shoulder - he has saved mine.
