I was asked to write a rewiew of my elbow surgery performed by Dr. Polyzois and I am happy to oblige. After a very bad fracture of my elbow, one bone of my arm, the radio, overgrew and got merged with the opposite one, so that I could not rotate my arm anymore. I had already come to terms with a life with some restriction (I couldn’t even do something simple like typing on a keyboard), but Dr. Polyzois reassured me that with a surgery my situation would be better. And he was right:) After a complicated and quite long intervention, my arm is functional again, and for that I can only thanks Dr. Polyzois and his team!

WHAT A SUPERSTAR, I had a fall on my left shoulder over six months ago and ignored it thinking it would get better. Mr Polyzois was very attentive and knowledgeable from start to finish. He totally put me at ease knowing I had not been operated on before. Two weeks on, I can already feel the benefits. His aftercare is equally attentive. I cannot thank or recommend him enough.

Mr Polyzois is an exceptional consultant with amazing caring skills that put you at ease immediately but at the same time his enthusiasm and positive attitude is supported by his wealth of knowledge. I would strongly recommend him to anyone requiring any orthopaedic treatment

I was very pleased with the whole process to fix my right shoulder. Mr Polyzois was informative and always attentive and answered all of my queries openly and made me feel at ease with the whole procedure.
The aftercare was also excellent and my life has returned back to normal now that the shoulder operation has been successful.
His attention to detail and extensive knowledge, made me feel at ease throughout the whole process.

Mr Polyzois treated me for a shoulder rotator cuff injury and frozen shoulder. As a commercial airline pilot, it’s essential I have full, free and uninhibited range of movement and Mr Polyzois prompt and effective treatment has allowed me to return to work within an impressive 6 weeks of the operation. I can’t speak for other injuries but I would definitely recommend for shoulder issues.

Mr Ioannis Polyzois is an experienced and skilled consultant trauma and orthopaedic surgeon at the Surrey Orthopaedic Clinic in Chertsey. He is an expert in shoulder and upper limb surgery, for which he is at the top of his field. He specialises in arthroscopic shoulder and elbow surgery, rotator cuff repair, shoulder stabilisation, complex upper limb trauma, the latest techniques in reconstructive surgery for sports upper limb injuries and all types of upper limb joint replacement surgery.
After qualifying from Liverpool University Medical School, Mr Polyzois completed his postgraduate trauma and orthopaedic training in Leeds, Athens and London. In this time, he worked in major trauma and elective centres, including Leeds General Infirmary and University College London Hospital. Whilst studying in Athens, he was the gold medallist in the Athens orthopaedic exit exam diploma and in the European Board Diploma. Mr Polyzois has also completed dual specialist fellowship training in shoulder and upper limb surgery at the Rowley Bristow unit in Chertsey and at the world-renowned Reading Shoulder Unit, a centre of excellence in this field.
Alongside his clinical commitments, Mr Polyzois is very active in his research, with more than 25 ‘medline’ peer-reviewed publications and authorship of several book chapters in orthopaedics and sports surgery. Mr Polyzois also presents regularly, both nationally and internationally on shoulder and elbow surgery, sports injuries and orthopaedics.
